The Rugby Football League offer a number of high-quality student placement opportunities.

The aim of each placement is the development of each individual, looking to improve their employability post-study and also the production of content for the University Rugby League programme, as well as a range of opportunities to work across the sport during the summer season.

Placements will include reporting on University RL BUCS leagues and fixtures - compiling a weekly round-up of the action.

Students will also have the opportunity to write Rugby League features for both internal and external use, and attend some of the Rugby Football League's big events such as the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Final, Betfred Super League Grand Final, and much more.

The programme has now been running for five years and participants have not only found that it enhances their writing skills, but the experience of working for the RFL has been enjoyable and useful in securing employment.

You don't need to have a great knowledge of Rugby League, but you do need to be resourceful, passionate and able to hit deadlines.

With a dedicated RFL mentor, our volunteers gain valuable experience working within a National Governing Body and the opportunity to liaise with influential networks within Media.

Applications for media placements in 2017/18 are open NOW and close at 5pm on Sunday, October 8.
